The Towpath Volunteers Fife and Drum Corps

The saddest part of life is when we lose our friends and loved ones. The Towpath Volunteers have lost some members of our family and we would like to honor them. Each of them has meant much to us and are deeply missed. Please watch over us till we meet again!

The Towpath Volunteers Fife and Drum Corps Ms. Donna Johnson
Bass Drummer 1992 - 1996

Donna, an active member, left us suddenly well before her time. She enjoyed marching with her daughter Becky who is still fifing and son Andy who learned the snare drum. Her ever present smile and sence of humor will be missed.

The Towpath Volunteers Announce:
Donna Johnson/Towpath Volunteers Scholarship

Starting in 2001, the Towpath Volunteers Fife and Drum Corps will honor Donna by presenting a Scholarship to a member, of whom must be in good standings and continuing his or her education with a preference in music or medicine. The scholarship will be presented yearly for up to four years as long as the member continues to be in good standings.

The Towpath Volunteers Fife and Drum Corps Ms. Robin Gottehrer-Graf
Fifer 1998 - 2001

Died after a battle with cancer. Robin marcher with her children, Daniel (Snare Drummer) and Sheehan (Fifer). Robin started as a member of the junior corps and moved to the senior corps quickly. She went on to become one of the best fifers the Toawpath Volunteers will be honored to have had. Her husband Rick was very supportive of her and enjoyed watching his faimly perform.

What is a Towpath Volunteer?
From time to time I sit back and ponder the great myths of the world. How did they build the Great Pyramids? Are there Aliens amongst us and what is the perfect Towpath Volunteer?

Could it be someone like Robin Gottehrer-Graf? Robbin was a person who loved to play the fife and was honored to wear the Towpath Volunteer uniform. She not only pushed herself to be the best she could be, but always was willing to help someone, no... make that everyone she could, to make them better too. Her radient smile was like sunshine and highly contageous.. Her eyes showd her joy in being part of the group.

She love the people she marched with. They were part of her family. And our family was not just blessed with her presence, but by her two children Daniel, a solid snare drummer, and Sheehan, perhaps one of the greatest fifers Towpath will ever have. Lets not forget her husband Rick, one of the few I was never able to talk into marching.

Robin Gotter-Graf died this past summer after a long battle with cancer. I know we meant a lot to her, so much that she even went to Florida with us, knowing she was sick. It would be the last time she performed with us. Her loss has greatly effected her family, our corps and each of our members that knew her. She was someone who could make something simple, like going out and having pizza, special.

I will miss her as a fifer and a friend.
